Electric Mud BBQ Toronto
Oct 27 2013Electric Mud BBQ in Toronto is the BBQ counterpart to the legendary Grand Electric taco restaurant located around the corner. Holding the crown for the best taco spot in a city with no shortage of superb competition (see La Carnita) is no small feat. We have to admit that we walked into in Electric Mud BBQ with great expectations inherited from it’s elder sibling.

Blackstrap BBQ Montreal
Dec 15 2012 [dropcap]B[/dropcap]lackstrap BBQ appears to have developed into a surprisingly divisive new restaurant from Clara Barron and Dylan Kier (Griffintown Cafe alumni). We had high expectations going into the experience for a number of reasons. The Blackstrap team’s ribs recently placed 13th out of 87 entrants at the Jack Daniel’s 2012 World Invitation Barbecue in Lynchburg, Tenn. and won Quebec’s Mondial du Grill.
Laurier Gordan Ramsay Montreal
Nov 02 2011Laurier BBQ has been a historic restaurant site for as long as anyone can remember. With the changing of hands, Gordan Ramsay has brought the place to a whole new level of fame and further reputability, changing up the decor and the menu just little enough to placate the hardcore locals, remaining true to its roots of perfectly cooked rotisserie chicken while bringing some new dishes into the mix.

Ajisen Ramen Hong Kong
Jun 21 2011Having just made it off of a 15 hour flight from Toronto to Hong Kong, we were tired, cranky and on the prowl for something tasty to eat. Walking around Inside the Hong Kong International Airport, we went up to the 7th floor and found a number of enticing restaurants though the majority of them were not open as it was 5 am. Lucky for us, one of the most attractive food stands was open – Ajisen Ramen. We each ordered a different ramen noodle bowl: one spicy beef bowl, one BBQ pork bowl, one garlic pork rib bowl and one vegetarian bowl. Service was fast and courteous – this was a given that we were pretty much the only ones there. If you happen to be stopping over at the HK International airport, Ajisen is a solid place to go. It is also entirely possible that we were just very hungry.
