Naklha Shisha Taipei

Nakhla Shisha is by far the classiest shisha joint I’ve ever been to. Instead of the usual cramped and smoky fare I’m used to in Montreal, the decor channels a hip modern cross between Indian, Arab and Asian style. The place offers just under two dozen different flavors for shisha including green tea, jasmine, mint, watermelon and lychee – we ordered the latter two for the seven of us to share.
We were pleasantly surprised to find that the fruity taste really came through and was quite fragrant on the tongue. To drink there was an electric lemonade (blue curacao, vodka, Sprite), a long island iced tea (vodka, gin, tequila, rum), a mango peach smoothie, a typhoon (gin) and a whisky-coke; the prices of the drinks were on par with typical North American or European standards, clocking in at a $7 or so. Really great spot to relax with a few friends, smoke a little and drink a little maybe even eat a little (Nakhla does offer some smaller dim sum type items) in the city’s most famous ‘young peoples’ neighbourhood.
