L’Evidence Montreal

Situated on lower St Denis amongst great restaurants like La Fabrique, L’Evidence is a classic restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the summer the terrace is nearly always full for brunch and I visited with some friends of mine who are regulars. The interior decor has a classic french vibe in the style of L’Express but with a more down to earth mentality. The service was quick and efficient – don’t expect small talk but do expect perfect coffee refills.
We ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine with spinach, cheddar, hollandaise sauce (curiously called dutch sauce), potatoes and fruit along with L’Evident which is two eggs, asparagus, mushrooms and a crepe stuffed with spinach and cheese and finally a Breakfast Plate with 2 eggs, ham, bacon, potatoes and fruit.
The food was tasty, the fruit selections was excellent (yellow kiwis) and the prices are very reasonable. The Eggs Benedict was the most expensive dish and was only $9.95 (including coffee). Great spot for standard breakfast/brunch fare at very cheap prices.
