Hoai Huong Montreal

One of my favorite spots to go to for a quick and easy lunch is the Vietnamese Hoai Huong, located a block away from the Cote-St-Catherine metro station. We sat on the terrace out front which was quite roomy and equipped with sun umbrellas so those who don’t like to endure the heat can eat in comfort. I had the “pink Vietnamese drink with coconut milk” which was exactly that- the pink color comes from the red jelly at the bottom which was chewy and a little sweet. Great chiller for summer weather.
To eat we ordered two portions of fried spring rolls which were greasy deliciousness, the C lettered lunch combo which came with a house soup, imperial rolls and a plate of beef brochettes with rice. We had a home style soup with rolled shrimps, pork and pig knuckles and shared the three specialties of beef, vermicelli and rice paper. The latter comes with individual sheets of rice paper – you are meant to wrap your own kind of spring rolls with the ingredients listed. Check it out for some cheap authentic Vietnamese food!
